How we look after your information.

This privacy notice tells you how Lanes Vets Limited collects, uses and protects information about you and your pet. We are a data controller registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

1. Who we are

Lanes Vets Limited is an independent veterinary practice with four branches across North Lancashire and a dedicated export service. Our registered address is Leachfield Industrial Estate, Green Lane West, Cabus, Garstang, Lancashire PR3 1PR.

2. What we collect

We collect information you provide when you register your pet, book an appointment, complete a form on our site or contact us. This includes your name, contact details, payment information where relevant, your pet’s clinical history, and the records we create when we treat your pet.

3. How we use it

We use your information to provide veterinary care, take payment, respond to enquiries, send appointment reminders, send our newsletter (with consent), comply with our regulatory obligations, and improve our service.

4. Who we share it with

We share information with insurers when you make a claim, with referral practices when we refer your pet, with our practice management system provider (Provet) and our website and marketing partner (Digital Practice), and with HMRC and other regulatory bodies where required by law. We do not sell your information.

5. How long we keep it

Clinical records are kept for the lifetime of your pet plus seven years, as required by RCVS guidance. Marketing data is kept until you ask us to stop. Financial records are kept for seven years.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access the information we hold about you, to ask us to correct anything that is wrong, to ask us to delete information where there is no legal basis to keep it, to object to certain processing, and to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
