Dental, cardiology, orthopaedics, dermatology, soft tissue and imaging referrals, all looked after in-house at Garstang.
Pets are looked after by familiar faces, with a continuous record, and owners do not have to make a long round-trip to another county for advanced care. Most referral work is handled in-house at Garstang.
Our orthopaedic referral service is well established, and our new dedicated CT pod arrives in the coming months. We can already take CT referrals on our scheduled scanner days, just speak to our referral nurse to book in.
Alex Smithson BVM&S, MRCVS, BDS (Hons) holds qualifications in veterinary dentistry and visits the practice to take referrals for oral and maxillofacial surgery, including root canal work and the treatment of oral tumours. Pets requiring other specialists are referred, when necessary, to a variety of specialist centres within the North West region.
Christopher Fellows BVMS, Cert VC, MRCVS holds the RCVS certificate in veterinary cardiology and visits the practice on a regular basis to investigate heart and chest problems. Christopher is on the RCVS Advanced Practitioners list.

The fastest way is to drop the case details to referrals@lanesvets.com. Our referral nurse will pick it up, get back to you with availability and brief the receiving vet ahead of the appointment.
For anything time-critical or for a quick chat first, you can also ring the Garstang number on 01995 603 349 and ask for the referral nurse.
