Lanes provide services to our sheep farmers from the low lying Fylde plains to the uplands of Bowland. Our clients include pedigree Suffolk, Charolais and Texel breeders, as well as commercial lowland and hill flocks with sheep lambing from December to May.
Our goat clients include commercial dairy and meat herds as well as smaller units and non-commercial owners with just 1 or 2 animals.
We are available to help with all areas of sheep and goat health and production, both on the farm and also at our surgery in Garstang where we have a dedicated area reserved for treating smaller farm animals. This includes an operating table suitable for carrying out caesarean sections on sheep.
We use this small farm animal area for:
• Lambing sheep, including caesarean sections
• Treating vaginal prolapses etc.
• Minor operations on lambs
• Carrying out vasectomies on tups and billy goats
• Ram fertility examination and semen sampling
• Debudding goat kids
• Hospitalising badly scoured calves for treatment with I/V drips
• Calf hernia repair
We can offer monthly contracts to our clients. These can be tailored to your farm and, for example, a fixed monthly charge could cover all your work, or work plus selected medicines, easing cash flow as well as the decision whether to have a call out or not. Please contact us for further information.
We are always keen to service new clients and take on new challenges, so if you have any questions about what we provide or how we can help your farming business then please do not hesitate to contact the Lanes Vets Farm Team at the Garstang surgery.
