Lanes Vets have been providing veterinary care for our client’s cattle for over 35 years, covering farms and small-holdings in an area which stretches from Kirkham in the south to Hornby in the north, from Chipping in the east to Poulton and the west coast.
We service all types of herds from small pedigree beef clients, larger commercial beef herds to the family-run dairy farm and large commercial units milking 400+ cows. Lanes have a dedicated team of experienced farm animal vets available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for all your bovine needs. Our range of services to our cattle clients includes:
All of our vets are experienced in dealing with common farm emergencies such as calvings, caesareans, downer cows, bloated cows etc. These calls will be given the utmost priority and a vet will be with you as soon as possible.
Routine Fertility Visits
We can provide regular herd fertility visits at competitive prices. Many of our dairy clients have us on farm every month or fortnight. We can also provide seasonal and ad-hoc scanning.
We are able to provide visits daily for everything from ill and off colour cows to castrating and dehorning to twisted stomachs operations and toggling.
Data Analysis and Health Monitoring
We have access to a wide range of tools including NMR records, Herd Companion, My Healthy Herd, Interherd and Interherd+. This allows us to keep track of everything from your milk and production data to cell counts and fertility data. Not only can we advise and help with many herd problems, by monitoring performance figures issues can be detected earlier and dealt with before they have a major impact on health and production.
We can offer veterinary help and investigation into many (hopefully not too common) farm problems from pneumonia and scours in calves to cell counts and fertility problems in adult cattle.
We can offer monthly contracts to our clients. These can be tailored to your farm and, for example, a fixed monthly charge could cover all your work, or work plus selected medicines, easing cash flow as well as the decision whether to have a call out or not. Please contact us for further information.
We are always keen to service new clients and take on new challenges, so if you have any questions about what we provide or how we can help your farming business then please do not hesitate to contact the Lanes Vets Farm Team at the Garstang surgery.
